Largemouth Bass

Good

up to 5 lbs.

Sampling from previous years shows the largemouth bass population is on the rise and should provide fair to good angling opportunities.

Channel Catfish

Good

up to 12 lbs.

Channel catfish and flathead catfish are both present in the lake, and the opportunity to catch a trophy of each species is available for the lucky angler.

Crappie

Fair

up to 12 inches

Sampling efforts indicate a large population of crappie with the majority in the 6-8" range, however, larger individuals up to 12" are available.

Wipers

Fair

up to 5 lbs.

A moderate population of wipers is present in the lake and should provide fair to good angling opportunities. The largest wiper sampled was 5 pounds.

Jigs and plastics worked slowly around structure.

Channel Catfish

Shad sides and cut baits around channel breaks or upper end when water is coming in

Crappie

Fish have moved shallow and are being caught near the rocky shoreline using jigs under a bobber.

Wipers

Fair-Good

up to 5lbs.

Shad imitations in open water or windy points, vertical jigging with spoons

       

Comments:

The lake is down 1 ft. the boat ramp is usable. Water temp is upper 60s.

The fish feeders will be running by Memorial Day Weekend.

Anglers please do your part to stop the spread of aquatic nuisance species (ANS). Clean, Drain, and Dry your boat and livewell after leaving a water body and do not transfer live fish or bait between water bodies.
