Crappie spawn is about done. Anglers are catching a few fish off the bank, but those in boats away from shore are having better luck. Both minnows and jigs are picking up fish.

Shad, sunfish, and minnows off shallow mud points and rip rap areas.

Using jig and nightcrawler on the flats.

Casting a variety of baits including jigs, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. Best luck has been reported along rocky shores.

All OK, be advised that Wakarusa River ramp has at least one foot drop off at the end.

General Comments

Water level June 13 was 1.75 feet low, release rate = 21 cfs, temperature = 70-77 F. 3.5 million walleye and 700,000 sauger fry stocked in April, about 216,000 fingerling largemouth bass were stocked in May, 35,000 wiper fingerlings stocked June 11. Be aware there are a lot of Asian Carp in the outlet, these fish are illegal to possess alive. Brushpiles placed into Clinton August 11 and 12, 2008.
