Cross Timbers State Park

Winter is upon us, the ducks are here in great numbers, and the eagles are too. January and February are great months to get outside and view waterfowl and our National Symbol the Bald Eagle. Check the forecast for the coldest day of the week, precipitation is a bonus and you'll see a lot of different birds on Toronto Lake.

Winter camping is available: full hookup sites are in the Toronto Point area at one of our frost free hydrants; electric is on at all utility sites; and primitive camping is of course available to brave folks! Frost free hydrants are available at the Toronto Point entrance and in Mann's Cove. All shower buildings are closed for the winter season, but vault toilets remain open throughout the park.

The current lake level is 902.15, this is .65 over conservation pool.

The Army Corps of Engineers conducted several maintenance projects on the gates, bridge, and spillway area, all projects are now complete and traffic flow is now normal across the dam!

Be sure and check out our four rustic cabins. All of our cabins offer unique views and a quiet atmosphere. Sandstone Bluff and Whispering Oaks share a courtesy dock for boaters and fisherman, be sure to request one of the two if you have these needs. Reservations should be made early, weekends usually fill up six months ahead, they can be made through this website. Please note there is no smoking or pets allowed inside, and NO TENTS allowed. NOW OPEN: "Timber Walker" cabin #4 in Toronto Point, is fully ADA, sleeps six, and has a larger living space than our other Cross Timbers cabins.

The Friends of Cross Timbers & Fall River State Parks contributes to special projects from funds produced from soda machines at the camper convenience center and at the park office. Funding from machines goes directly back to the group for projects in the parks. The laundry facilities at Toronto Point have been burglarized, anyone with information on these thefts please contact our office. The purchase of these machines was made possible by the Friends Groups fundraising efforts. The Friends Group has now replaced a washer/dryer set, they are now available in the campers Convienence center, hours are 9am to 7pm.

The Big Timbers playground is located in the Toronto Point area of the park. It is designed for children ages 5-12. There are slides, climbing, and swings for your youngster's enjoyment. A smaller additional playground is located in the Osage Plains Campground, where kids can enjoy a climber, and swings!
