Black Crappie

Fair

up to 10-inch

Fishing breaks in 8 to 9 feet of water with minnows.

Bluegill

Small beetle spins or bobber and worm combo off the piers, rocky shorelines, and shallow shoreline areas with sun exposure.

Although few lunker sized bluegill are available at Cowley, action can be fast and furious on fish to 7-inches during the spring spawn. The clear waters at Cowley make detecting the spring spawning beds a snap. Bluegill are a great fish to introduce kids to fishing.

Channel Catfish

Fair

up to 3 lbs

Livers and stinkbait in depths of 3 to 5 feet.

15-inch minimum length limit 5/day creel limit

Largemouth Bass

Fair to Good

up to 18-inch

Crawdad imitating crankbaits and plastics in 5 to 7 feet of water along weed lines and flats. Very few fish are hanging along the steep bluff banks so concentrate on the weedy flats!

Redear Sunfish

Fair

Up to 10-inch

4 to 6 feet deep on worms.
