|---|---|---|---|
|
Channel Catfish |
Fair |
Up to 10 lbs. |
Moderate numbers of channel catfish were captured during fall test netting. The trees in the upper end of the reservoir tend to be popular locations for catfishermen. |
|
Walleye |
Fair/Good |
Up to 10 lbs. |
Fair number of walleye were captured during fall test netting and some larger fish are available. Jigs fished along the dam during the spawning period or jigs tipped with a nightcrawler fished on the flats during the summer are popular tactics for walleye at Hillsdale. |
|
Crappie |
Good |
Fish are 9 to 11 inches and few up to 13 inches |
Good numbers of crappie were captured during fall test netting. Jigs fished along rocky areas during the spawning period or minnows fished near the brushpiles are popular tactics for crappie. |
|
White Bass |
Fair |
Up to 2 lbs. |
Fall test netting indicated moderate numbers of white bass. The white bass population will likely be a supplemental species captured while fishing for crappie. White twistertails fished near points and along the Tontzville causeway are popular locations for white bass. |
|
Largemouth |
Fair |
Up to 4 lbs. |
Spring electrofishing indicated a low to moderate abundance of largemouth bass. The largest fish captured during electrofishing was 4 lbs so some larger fish are available. Try using finesse plastics fished in the coves for largemouth bass. |
