Species

Rating

Size

Baits, Method, & Location

Channel catfish

Good

Up to 30"

Some nice channel catfish have been caught on cutbait and shrimp. The feeders are not filled yet, but will be later this week.

Crappie

Good

8-10"

Crappie fishing has been good, mostly for small fish though. Recent sampling showed many crappie in the 14 inch range, though.

Largemouth bass

Good

Up to 5 lb.

Some 20+" fish have been caught already this spring. Recent sampling showed the best numbers in submerged vegetation. The population looks great, with the big fish of the sample weighing in at 7.1 lb.

Saugeye

Fair

15"

A few saugeye were sampled last fall in gill nets. There probably aren't high enough densities to target saugeye quite yet, but anglers should be aware that a few have survived stockings and may be caught.
