2011-2012 CWD Test Stations
Many individuals and businesses across Kansas are assisting with the important effort of collecting samples for CWD testing.
KDWPT wishes to thank all of those contractors who are collecting samples for CWD testing during the 2011-2012 hunting seasons, as well as in previous years. Monitoring the spread of the disease would be much more difficult, if not impossible, without their help.
- To have your deer tested for CWD, simply submit the head to the CWD Test Station nearest you. Call to confirm hours of business.
- If you prefer to submit the head directly to a KDWPT Wildlife Biologist, click here to find links to the office nearest you.
- Remove the skullcap and antlers if you wish. The lymph node samples (RPLNs) we need are located near the tonsils, close to where the head joins the spinal column.
The CWD Test Station will collect the following information:
- Your Name
- Harvest Date
- Your KDWPT# (From your hunting license)
- Your address and telephone number
- The DMU, county, and distance/direction from the nearest town or hwy intersection. (Why do we collect this information?)
- And other species-related information, including sex and age
THANK YOU for having your deer tested for CWD. The health of the Kansas deer herd depends upon all of us. Check the KDWPT website for links to other ways you can help prevent the spread of CWD, such as the responsible disposal of carcass waste. Updates will be made to this 2011-2012 CWD Test Station list as individuals and businesses sign up.
